Jack Ryan
Community Strategist
Jack Ryan (JR) best serves others by curating intimate spaces and experiences for people to connect, challenge, and care for each other. His tenacious and courageous spirit tends to spark new life and energy in people of all backgrounds and ages. Before DSN, he launched “BEMOR”. A start-up design firm that developed a pocket-size notebook that encourages users to step into the habit of writing and journaling. Through this launch, he curated a community of 44 young, driven Gen-Z creatives and entrepreneurs. Before this venture, JR connected high-level entrepreneurs and executives for events, retreats, and communal gatherings working alongside Tommy Breedlove, the bestselling author and speaker of "Legendary". He has built communities for seasoned business leaders as well the younger generation of more creatively driven individuals. This experience segways perfectly into his role at Discipleship Stewardship Network, a Nonprofit, and DSN International LLC, a For-Profit company with the goal of seeing leaders and organizations grow: “One Leader at a Time & One Organization at a time.”
JR received a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and a minor in Business from the Leads School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His love for communities sprung him into many leadership roles during his youth and he now serves the next generation of up-and-coming leaders at the Discipleship Stewardship Ministry.
Jack would love to partner with you as he carries out the work of discipleship and leadership development.
Jacobed E. Bayan
Discipleship Director
Jacobed serves as an associate with DSN International and the Discipleship Stewardship Network, where she’s passionate about equipping the next generation of women leaders to walk in truth, purpose, and global impact. She brings a background in international relations and media with a deep heart for justice, healing, and discipleship.
Jacobed’s journey with Christ began in college, when she gave her life to Jesus at age 20 while attending IUPUI. Since then, her faith has become the foundation of her calling. She holds a Master’s in Applied Communication: Media Criticism from IUPUI where she studied various aspects of media in relation to politics. With a second Joint Master’s in Euroculture from Jagiellonian University and University of Deusto., where she explored how global policy, and cross-cultural understanding can bring transformation.
At DSN, Jacobed is especially excited to contribute to the anti-human trafficking component of the women’s ministry — a new and growing effort to bring Christ-centered healing and restoration to vulnerable women and girls. Her heart is for the oppressed, and she believes the Gospel offers true freedom for every captive — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
In her personal walk, Jacobed is known for her deep love for God’s Word, her hunger to learn, and desire to build bridges between people of different cultures and backgrounds. Whether through storytelling, media, teaching, or quiet mentorship, she is committed to helping others discover their voice, their value, and their calling in Christ.
Jacobed would love to partner with you as she carries out the work of discipleship and leadership development.
Wayne Johnson
Discipleship Mentor
As a college student, Wayne’s lukewarm Christian faith was turned upside down as he responded to the call to “come help change the world.” He recognized that the world did not have permanent solutions to the turmoil of the Vietnam War and racism during those college years. He became a committed follower of Jesus Christ as he fell in love with a Father who loved and valued him, learned what it meant to be a disciple, and caught the vision of the Great Commission to make disciples worldwide.
Wayne holds a B.A. from Northwestern University, an M.Div. from the International School of Theology, a Th.M. in New Testament and a Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He served with Cru for 35 years in university ministry and theological education in Africa. He served the Nairobi International School of Theology in Kenya over a period of 28 years as an Associate Professor in Theology, Academic Dean, Head of the Bible and Theology Department, and stints as VP for Planning and Development, Finance, and Administration. During his time in Kenya, he and his wife, Dee, helped plant the Kileleshwa Community Church. He spent nine years as an Associate Pastor for a church in Pittsburgh. Wayne is once again Cru where he has been part of a team of Cru implementing accredited competency-based theological education worldwide. He is currently an Academic Mentor for two Ph.D. students, one in the U.S. and one in Togo.
Wayne’s strength and passion is to teach for holistic Christ-like transformation. His vision is to see Christians fully follow Jesus in ways that genuinely reflect God’s Kingdom and intentionally share their faith in this world and help others become disciples of Christ.
Dee F. Johnson
Discipleship Mentor
Dee is coming along side Jacobed Bayan in a discipleship/mentoring relationship. They began meeting in the beginning of the year and Dee noticed Jacobed’s depth in God’s Word and prayer, her vision and her deep compassion for others. Dee said, “It is a privilege to partner with Jacobed in this Discipleship Stewardship Network journey to reach young women in Ft. Wayne and beyond.”
There will be an anti-human trafficking component of the women’s ministry of DSN. So, you should know: Dee became very aware of this problem on her 2019 mission trip to Faith House in Mae Sot, Thailand. The Mission team in 2019 led 50 precious rescued girls through a healing process curriculum from Mending the Soul — entitled Princess Lost/Found. (www.mendingthesoul.org) Dee is committed to bringing this healing teaching of Jesus to vulnerable children around the world. Dee Johnson is married to Wayne Johnson. She received Christ through the ministry of Cru at Penn State University. Dee has been on Cru staff for 50 years, first in the Campus Ministry and then she and her husband Wayne went to Kenya and there Dee spent 28 years teaching and training in evangelism, discipleship, and counseling at the International Leadership University (ILU) in Nairobi, Kenya. Dee has a Master’s in Biblical Counseling (ILU/Kenya) and now serves with Cru City in Ft. Wayne, IN. Wayne and Dee have 3 adult children, a son-in-law, and four amazing grandchildren.
